Unorthodoks Marketing was founded by Keenan B. Davis to provide end to end Internet marketing, advertising and branding services to companies that want to reach the African-American Internet user.
Keenan's professional background spans several well-respected and well-known companies namely, Sybase, Inc., Acclaim Entertainment, Putnam Investments Inc. and Salomon Brothers Inc. He also spent time with smaller specialized companies such as Impressions Software and Hawthorne Associates. The various positions he held at these companies all contributed to give him the technical, marketing and financial background needed to head a company such as Unorthodoks Marketing.
Keenan's education in business began at Babson College in Wellesley, MA, which was ranked #1 among business specialty schools for undergraduate entrepreneurship. Following his sophomore year, he transferred to Bentley College in Waltham, MA to complete the requirements he needed for a BS in Marketing. He also minored in Entrepreneurship. In the few free moments that he found while matriculating, Keenan devoted his time to organizations such as the Black Student Union of Babson College, the Black United Body of Bentley College and the Babson Dance Ensemble.
Actually, it was his participation in the Babson Dance Ensemble that led to his first entrepreneurial endeavor: The co-founding of a Hip Hop / Rap / R&B / Reggae / Latin / Step dance group entitled "Dancers Unorthodoks". The group's major accomplishment was performing during the opening ceremonies of the 1998 Massachusetts Special Olympics.
Keenan has an upbringing and persona which is rarely found that allows him the luxury of being accepted and respected anywhere from the parks found deep within the center of the inner city to the halls of the major corporations that line Wall Street. It is this familiarity and comfort in these two very distinct environments that allows Keenan the capability to run Unorthodoks Marketing as it positions itself as the bridge to connect these two worlds.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Keenan's interests among entrepreneurship and the African-American community and culture include dance, sports, and music. He currently resides in New York City, NY.
